A Note Of Encouragement For You

Hey friends!

Today’s blog post is short and sweet, and a reminder for me as much as it is for you!

You were created with a purpose. Your life has incredible value.

Let that sink in for a minute. When I truly let those words hit my heart instead of just my head, I feel like my soul will explode! These statements are true about YOU. Throughout my entire life, I’ve struggled with feeling like I don’t belong or that I’m just not good enough. The feelings of inadequacy still pull at me now as a believer, wife, daughter, sister, friend, and photographer. When the moments of inadequacy creep in, I try to set my mind on these verses from Ephesians 1:

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us.

11 In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12 in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.”

The word chosen is used twice in the passage above, and that completely overwhelms me with thankfulness. Regardless of myself and my messiness, God still chose me.

You were created with a purpose. Your life has incredible value.

I challenge you to read those two statements (and the verses above!) three more times and really just sit and be still. Think about how your job, the friends around you, and your heart will be effected by believing those truths today. Whatever season of life you are in, whether you are recently engaged, a wedding photographer, a stay at home mom, or working in a corporate office, think on these truths and be encouraged!
